Today after posting my 500th daily photo to Facebook, I've decided to concentrate my efforts into my website. I intend to improve the content and display, and would love any feedback. On to my next phase, starting with this upload today that will soon be haning on my mom's wall. Happy Mother's Day mom!

Kid Sports

Most of my photos through the years has been concentrated on kid sports. Both of our kids were heavily into their sports, and as a result, we spent many nights and weekends cheering them on. As our youngest is about to graduate from high school, the Miller family sports lifestyle is near it's end. Our daughter does play softball at college, but she is 800 miles away, and her coach really prevents parents from spending any time with the players the few times we can take time off and travel to watch her team. Our son has started umpiring for little kid baseball, and with that comes another opportunity for me to get some pictures. This time, I have a MUCH nicer camera equipment, along with a far greater understanding of how to use it. I'm thinking someday I'll have a lot of grandkid pics, but in the meantime, I look forward to shooting at a few youth sports events, WITHOUT the drama or emotion of also being a player's parent.

Here's my first sjmiller Photography blog, woo hoo! It is a new feature from my website hosting company, and I need to try it out. Clearly blogging is part of social media, which is part of marketing, which I guess I must do if I wish to have my photos available to share.

Besides making photos that I hope keep your interest, with this Blog, I desire to communicate to you some of the little extra bits of information that make a picture or moment special. There are so many things I enjoy about photography that I sometimes struggle deciding what type of photographer I want to be when I grow up. In the meantime, I'll continue to enjoy my photographic freedom and shoot all sorts of photos.

I also need to get better connected on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+, etc, etc, etc. Or I could go outside and take some pictures.... See ya!
